Josie Lianna Kaye

Josie is the CEO and Founder of Geneva-based boutique company, TrustWorks, specialising in responsible business and investments in conflict-affected and high-risk areas. With over 18 years of experience, Josie has advised multinational corporations, financial institutions and governments on incorporating a heightened human rights due diligence and/or conflict-sensitivity lens into policies, governance process and practices on the ground, focusing on sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Josie leads conflict-related engagements with de Pury Pictet Turrettini’s ‘Cadmos Peace European Engagement Fund’ and developed the TrustWorks Peace Impact Framework to assist development financial institutions and impact investors in their work with SMEs in conflict-affected areas. Josie holds a PhD from the University of Oxford on the role of business in conflict and has authored studies and publications on hHRDD, investments in fragile states, SME facilities, and peace mediation. Her career includes operational roles with the UN, policy contributions at UN headquarters, and a research and management role at Columbia University’s Center for International Conflict Resolution.
